The “Black Is King” Inspired Bridal Campaign Is Absolutely Gorgeous

Black is King inspired bridal campaignAt the end of 2020, this “Black is King” inspired bridal campaign went viral so much that even Viola Davis shared it on her official Instagram profile. In this article, people can get all the details behind this gorgeous representation of diverse bridal beauty.

After being in the industry for many years, events and wedding planner Rebeca Lang shared with fans that her clients noticed a lack of representation and diversity in the wedding industry.

Black is King inspired bridal campaignRebecca decided to launch the Brown Skin Brides campaign. It’s an editorial shoot that features brides of every size, shade, and shape. People might wonder what the inspiration is behind this shoot, and the answer is Beyonce Knowles. Lang shares with her fans that Beyonce’s visual album “Black Is King”, and especially the song “Brown Skin Girl” gave her the idea for this great concept.

Creativity Inspired by Beyonce’s “Black Is King”

Lang says that she has always wanted to do something creative like this and after she watched Black Is King, she knew exactly how she wanted the concept to look. In “Brown Skin Girl,” Beyonce shows how important representation is. In the clip, she has dark skin, light skin, braids, bald, weave, natural, South Asian, Albino, basically everyone. This is what made Lang recreate this concept.

Black is King inspired bridal campaignIn creating this shoot, Lang knew that it was extremely important to recruit vendors – from hair and makeup to the actual production crew. She felt as passionate about this matter as she did. The amazing photos were shot by REEM Photography, and the BTS video was created and filmed by KEJ Productions. These are both Black-owned businesses.

Commitment and Unforgettable Presence

Rebecca Lang also says that she is committed to partnering with specifically BIPOC vendors. Everyone but the venue met these specific criteria. Lang also thinks that with so much Black and Brown skin love in the room, it was a transformative and tangible presence that she will never forget.
