Being Who They Want
Joanna Minuzzo is a mom of three who lives in Queensland, Australia. Although she knows that parenting her children is one of the most important jobs she could ever undertake, she has never been about rules and regulations. She has always said that she wants her kids to be who they want to be, and to make their own decisions in life. By doing this, she hopes that her kids will be able to live their own lives without feeling as though they are being judged or constrained in any way.
Getting Hitched
Because of this, Joanna wanted her children to wear what they wanted for her wedding. While her daughters were happy with their white frocks and their flower headbands, her two-year-old son didn’t want to wear a suit and tie. Instead, he wanted to wear a blue dress. Although many parents would have said no to this, Joanna was over the moon that her son had made his own decision, and couldn’t wait to see what he looked like on the day. The end result was absolutely stunning.
Joanna hopes that by continuing this way of parenting, their children will grow up realizing that they shouldn’t give in to societal pressure or feel as though they are judged for their actions.
